This position

Create corporate documents based on precedents

Maintain corporate records and corporate registrations

  • We use MinuteBox – online minute book record keeping and digitizing of corporate records.

Assist in due diligence, searches and minute book reviews.

Assist with corporate transactions, preparing of closing and record books 

Your Experience

Minimum 2 years experience as a Corporate Law Clerk.

Completed a Law Clerk Diploma from an accredited institution or completion of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certification.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (client will train you in other software)

Your Role

This role has these principal elements, all of which involve working closely with and reporting to the principal lawyer (owner):

Finance (45%)

  • Bookkeeping
  • Managing finances, including compliance with client trust regulations
  • Timely invoicing, collections, payment to suppliers, and processing of payroll and monthly remittances
 

Office management (40%)

  • Managing people
  • Managing workloads
  • Managing software upgrades, innovative technology, implementations
 

Marketing (15%)

  • Managing targeted marketing efforts
  • Managing the enhancement of client experience and continuous professional improvement
 

Your Experience/Credentials

5 years minimum experience in bookkeeping/finance. Experience in a law firm is desired but not a requirement.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Preference for experience with legal accounting software (PCLaw and/or Soluno) and document management software (NetDocs and/or Worldox).
